Indoor Hockey Stick Characteristics
Indoor hockey sticks look the same as outdoor hockey sticks, with the most significant difference being that indoor hockey sticks are much thinner than outdoor hockey sticks.
Indoor Hockey Sticks are designed and developed to be much thinner due to the rules of indoor hockey. The regulations stating you cannot hit the hockey ball during indoor hockey have made indoor hockey sticks thinner to stop players from hitting the ball. If you tried to hit the ball with an Indoor Hockey Stick, the head of the stick would fly off!
Indoor Hockey Stick Bends
Indoor hockey sticks will share the accurate bends and bows as outdoor hockey sticks. Due to indoor hockey sticks’ thinness, lower bends and bows will appear much bigger!
Most people will play with mid and low-bow indoor sticks due to the rules of indoor hockey restricting the ball from going in the air. Indoor hockey sticks with the extreme low bow are designed for players that drag flick from short corners to the exaggerated late bend due to the thinner nature of the indoor hockey stick.

Indoor hockey sticks are made from various materials similar to outdoor hockey sticks. Here are the two most popular variants of indoor hockey sticks.
Wooden Indoor Sticks
These are very common for players of all levels to play with because wooden sticks stay nice and soft, giving you far more control and feel of the ball, which is perfect for indoor hockey!
Composite Indoor Sticks
These range from 0 - 100% Carbon; with more carbon in the stick, the stiffer it becomes. We have found that indoor sticks with the higher carbon lose their touch with the thinner profile indoor sticks.
